Victoria station, also known as London Victoria, is a central London railway terminus and connected London Underground station in Victoria. Victoria Train Station is London's second busiest railway station after Waterloo Station handling around 1.5 million people each week, the majority of whom are commuters from London's suburbs and the South East of England. The best feature of the Victoria station is always full of people, in other words, hectic & floating population. All of the facilities are existence for those people who are commuters, trippers, police, guards, cleaners, shops, long queue in front of the ticket machine and so on. For a keen observation of people's moving route, I was wandering from place to place of the station. I roughly divided the station into three positions for drawing and sat on the ground in the middle of the station. A material of my work is oil pastel. It's wet solids texture, can express sticky and spread like a shadow. I expressed the floating population (traces of station) by smudging the oil pastel, draw abstractly with strong black to represent a dense population and stores. I just followed my hands along the movements of the objects and people.
